Watch the video about the Josh Crews Project
https://youtu.be/Ga6ev3olE-AStudents from Buddy Taylor Middle School participated in the fourth annual Josh Crews Writing Project at the book launch on Thursday, May 12. Their writing coach is Dr. Kelly Grillo. There were 48 authors at the book launch, signing copies of their book and talking to the public about their writing.
Josh Crews Writing Project clubs are now in every middle and high school in Flagler County. Fifty eight students had their work published in this year's anthology of creative writing, "Write On!"
The clubs were created in honor and memory of Josh Crews, a young man beloved by his classmates, who knew him as an accomplished story teller and writer.
Two young authors who have used the club as a springboard to publish their own books were guest speakers at the book launch on May 12. Gabriella Dennany, author of "Alice: The Leader,” and Sage Sackett, author of “Uncle Namaste and the Meditating Monkeys.”
Friends and family of Josh Crews present at the event included Mr. & Mrs. Scott Crews, Joe Rizzo, and Carla Cline. Cline and Rizzo are members of the Flagler County Education Foundation and organize an annual gala each year to raise funds for the Josh Crews Writing Project. The Crews family also provide funding for the project, plus funding for other Flagler County Education Foundation programs.
