Mainland dominated University for the most of three quarters in spring football.

The Mainland Buccaneers outscored the University Titans 13-7 through their three allotted quarters for the spring game on Friday, May 20, at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium in DeLand.

After trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, Denzel Houston connected with Jhii Taylor for a 64-yard touchdown pass. And, in the third quarter, C.J. Wilson broke a couple of tackles before sprinting down the sideline for a 35-yard touchdown run. The extra point was missed.

In the fourth quarter, Mainland's junior varsity quarterback hooked up with receiver Drew Plummer for a 56-yard pass to put the Bucs in the red zone, but they settled for a field goal.
