Ormond Beach Sandcrabs Football and Cheer, nonprofit organization, was recognized by the city with a proclamation, read by Mayor Ed Kelley, which declared May 17, 2016, as a day to recognize the organization. The Ormond Beach organization had 27 members who were recently named Scholastic All-Americans, which means had a 96% grade point average. They were in the top 5% of all Pop Warner kids in the nation academically, which has a total of 500,000 national participants.

The proclamation stated that Pop Warner seeks to develop well-rounded men and women who not only learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education and developing character while having a good time.
