Flagler Palm Coast and Seabreeze played anything but an exciting, championship-caliber game on Tuesday, May 24, at FPC for their spring contest. But that’s why they play this exhibition.
The Bulldogs won 13-0 in a game of constant turnovers and penalties. FPC’s Keith Boswell recovered the first Sandcrabs’ fumble. After Paul Nelson sacked Brevin Glaze from the blind side, Boswell picked up another fumble. Isaac Mott, then, intercepted a Darrell Thomas pass to return the ball to Seabreeze. And then FPC’s Kevin Pogue stripped a Sandcrab for a third Seabreeze fumble lost in the first quarter. Just before halftime, Sandcrabs’ Jalen Miranda picked off a second Thomas pass, but the Sandcrabs were unable to capitalize on any opportunities.
FPC’s Que’Shaun Byrd scored the only two touchdowns of the game, on a two-yard run in the second quarter, and a 36-yard run in the third. The extra point attempt for the last score was missed.
Both teams will rest a couple of weeks but will return to the practice field for the summer offseason.
