Three times the race at Tomoka Triathlon

Locals finish at top spots in this year's race.

For the fifth straight year, athletes from around the region, competed in the annual Tomoka Triathlon, this time on Sunday, May 22, in Ormond.

Overall champions were familiar faces, Eric Graveling, who has won every triathlon, and Lauren Diaz, who won last year’s race. In the following are this year’s top local finishers:

 

Top local results: Sandford Kinne placed first in the Male 20-24 division; Hannah Gray, first in female 20-24; Carsten Georg, first in 30-34 and 11th overall; ; Brett Robinson, third in 30-34 and 31st overall; Joe Ventura, second in 35-39 and ninth overall; Naomi Ventura, first in 35-39; John Dodd, first in 50-54 and 14th overall; Clyde Ball and Michael Cain, second and third in 55-59 and 26th and 33rd overall; Fat Tire: Phil Brennan, first overall; First Timer: Shed Roberson, second place and fourth overall; Brad Sparks, second in 25-29; Kimberly Shapiro, first in 25-29; Clint Bagwell, first in 30-34 and 10th overall; Jane Failer, second in 30-34; Jeff Steinberg, first in 35-39 and sixth overall, and Brett Maclver took third; Anna McComb, third in 40-44; Donna Andrews, third in 45-49; Clydesdale 39-and-under: Shaw Ashley, second and fifth overall.
