Between the presidential election and the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, Mitchell Booth of Love Whole Foods knows people are ready for a break. That's why he's hosted an evening of "non-partisan fun' at Cinematique Nov. 7.
In the past, Love's has hosted an annual Halloween costume party, but this year Booth decided to host an inaugural ball where guests are asked to pick the "ball" of the candidate they wanted to win and then dress as if they were invited.
"This is all in the spirit of celebrating the end of this election," said Booth. "For those not politically involved, this is a post-hurricane party."
The attire is "dress to impress," and an award will be given to the best-dressed attendees. A PBS documentary on the human brain will be shown, and then a ballroom dance lesson will be given. It is free to attend and children are invited.
RSVP by calling 677-5236.
Held 7 p.m., Nov. 7 at Cinematique, 242 S. Beach St., Daytona.
