The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs (3-6) defeated the Seabreeze Sandcrabs (1-8) 40-13 to close out their season Friday, Nov. 4, at FPC.
Senior running back Que'Shaun Byrd got off to a quick start, scoring a 65-yard rushing touchdown on the second play of the game. After just his third run of the night, Byrd had run for 163 and two scores. He would finish with 188 yards, leaving in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Byrd went past 3,500 rushing yards for his career.
Sophomore Jimmie Robinson picked up where Byrd left off. Just before halftime, he caught a 20-yard pass from Darrell Thomas and then made a couple defenders miss on his way to a 58-yard touchdown reception.
After forcing a Seabreeze turnover deep in Sandcrabs' territory, Robinson ran in a four-yard score for his second touchdown.
After giving up two straight touchdowns, the Bulldogs responded with a trick play that turned into a touchdown. Thomas connected with Garrett Linton on a pass behind the line of scrimmage, and Linton found a wide open Anfernee Brown in the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown pass.
To cap off the night and send the Bulldogs into the offseason, freshman Ty Jenkins ran in a score from five yards to put FPC up 40-13.
On the defensive side of the ball, Lio Eveillard picked up two sacks, and special teams blocked a punt, a field goal and an extra point.
BREAKING NEWS: FPC has decided to release head coach Tommy Moody of his coaching duties. Moody went 7-12 in two seasons as the Bulldogs head coach.
