Theft. The victim, a restaurant owner, said he has an employee who gives his name but no other personal information. They discovered that he had hundreds of dollars less in sales than the other waiters and waitresses. After looking at sales over a week, they saw that he would price an item $0.00 in instead of the real price. This was done on almost all of his orders. They discovered that he found a way to manipulate the computer system and stole about $30,000 over the past year.
The officer told them to call police the next time he shows up for work.

Possession of Marijuana. An officer saw a car make a right turn on a solid red light without stopping. As he was traveling behind the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of marijuana.
After stopping the car, the officer saw there were fishing poles in the car, and he asked if they were going fishing. They said they just wanted to go fishing.
The officer could smell marijuana and told the occupants he was going to perform a probable cause search. They said there was nothing in the vehicle.
Opening a fishing tackle box in the trunk, the officer found a large bag with a green leafy substance and a marijuana cigarette, called a “blunt.” He also found a bag of mushrooms.
A couple of people said it belonged to someone else, but the driver later admitted that one of the passengers had the tackle box when he was picked up and they were going fishing.

Resisting Officer Without Violence. An officer saw the suspect walking through a trailer park with another person. He had knowledge of the suspect through prior dealings, and knew he was wanted on several felony warrants out of Volusia, Flagler and Brevard counties.
The officer stepped out of his car and told the suspect to stop walking. The suspect asked, “Did I do something wrong?”
The officer called him by name, and he immediately ran through the trailer park. The officer yelled, “Stop,” but the suspect continued to run and jumped over a fence into a business.
Units from several agencies helped to set up a perimeter, and the suspect was located by a Daytona Beach police canine in the back yard of a residence. He was captured without incident.
