Tajmir-Davis & Associates Engineering President Ray Tajmir was sitting at his desk this morning when a car plowed through the glass front of his office, striking the desk and missing him by “2 inches,” he said.
“I heard a scrape, and by the time I looked up, the car was inside the office,” he said. “It hit the desk, but it didn’t hit me.”
Tajmir helped get the driver — a woman who’d been taking her medium-size dog to the grooming salon next door — out of the car. She did not seem to be seriously injured, Tajmir said.
“I was lucky, and the lady, the driver — she was very lucky too, thank God,” Tajmir said as insurance adjusters assessed the damage to the office.
Tajmir has lived in Palm Coast since 1986 and worked at the engineering office on Palm Harbor Village Way, off Old Kings Road near Island Walk, for about 18 years, he said.
He was the only one in the office when the Toyota crashed into it at about 6:45 a.m.
