Adriane Maynard rubbed the side of her pencil over the square of paper, copying the name of a loved one on the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial. She was one of many, looking for names of friends and family, whose names are etched in the wall.
“We have three relatives on the wall, and my dad can’t make it today, so I am doing this for him,” Maynard said.
The Wall is a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., standing six feet at the center and nearly 300 feet from end to end, according to themovingwall.org.
The Wall is part of a weekend-long Veterans Day remembrance at the Flagler Executive Airport.
On Friday, Nov. 11, hundreds gathered for a formal ceremony that including a fly-over by FireFlight, a T6 WWII trainer, and OV-1 Mohawk.
The event continues through the weekend with vendors, military displays, and live music.
