After receiving a call today from an elderly Palm Coast man who stated he needed assistance with his car after it stalled near the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Old Kings Road, two Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies, capitalizing on a lull in Hurricane Matthew, utilized a surplus 2.5-ton military truck and responded to the man and rescued him. The man, who was suffering from breathing problems, was taken to a nearby firehouse for medical attention.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office assures everyone that they will respond to emergencies as quickly as possible, but it will take time. Conditions are improving so first responders are now able to respond to calls for service.
It’s still very important for residents to stay put and stay safe until damage assessments can be done.
