The voter registration deadline in Florida has been extended by court order until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, according to a news release from the Flagler County Supervisor of Elections Office.
The deadline had originally been 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11; the additional day was added to give Florida citizens an extra day to register after Hurricane Matthew.
Anyone who has not registered who wants to vote in the general election must submit a Florida Voter Registration Application, which must be completed and signed, then delivered, or postmarked, by Oct. 12.
Florida Voter Registration Applications are available outside the Elections Office at 1769 E. Moody Blvd. in Bunnell for voters who want to visit the office after hours on Tuesday, and the application is also always available online, at http://dos.myflorida.com/media/693757/dsde39.pdf.
Voters may also use the drop box after hours at the entrance of the Elections Office to return the application.
The Elections Office will be open for extended hours on Oct. 11-12 to accept voter registration applications.
Hours on Tuesday and Wednesday will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
