St. Mark Christian Day School in Palm Coast, and Ity Bity Learning Center in Bunnell, received bonus checks for their successful participation in The Early Learning Performance Funding Project, a voluntary statewide initiative.
The schools were required to have at least 30% of their birth to 5-year-old children receiving School Readiness subsidy, no class I, and no more than two class II licensing violations with the Department of Children and Families within the last two years. The project gives eligible early care and education providers an opportunity to earn additional compensation for improving school readiness program outcomes, and specifically for improving teacher child interactions, as measured by a nationally normed tool called the CLASS™.
Participating teachers were trained on how best to provide emotional support, keep their classrooms organized and productive, and facilitate learning through discussion and activities that teach age appropriate concepts.
