Ormond Beach Police are investigating an armed robbery and carjacking that occurred at the Walmart Super Center around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 27.
Officers were notified that a suspect had pointed a handgun at a customer service clerk and demanded money from her register. After receiving the money, the suspect exited the store and confronted a woman at her car. The suspect pointed the handgun at her and demanded the keys to her vehicle. The suspect then fled the parking lot in the woman's vehicle.
Though shaken up, neither woman suffered injuries during the incident. During the investigation, an empty BB gun box and packaging were found discarded in the electronics department. This BB gun matched the description of the firearm used by the suspect. However, it is unknown if the suspect has a real handgun also.
The suspect has been identified as Nicholas Dinovo. He is described as a white male, heavy set, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 270 pounds, with short brown hair, and was last seen wearing a green polo shirt, black basketball shorts with a vertical white stripe, and sandals. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. He was involved in a shooting with Citrus County Police in 2004.
The woman's vehicle he fled in is described as a 2013 dark gray Ford Fiesta, five-door hatchback, bearing Florida Tag 4530JJ, with a Daytona State College and princess sticker in the rear window.
