Diaper dash
2:24 p.m. — 1500 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Petit Theft. The suspect removed two game station remote controllers out of original packaging in a department store and placed them in a diaper bag. He was stopped as he was pushing a cart with the diaper bag out of the store.
He said he wasn’t sure why he committed the theft but said it was a stupid decision. The victim said he remembered the suspect from a previous incident when he placed remote controllers in his pants.
Oct. 23
Early DUI
8:01 a.m. — 100 Block of East Granada Boulevard
DUI Alcohol. The officer heard over the radio that a reckless driver was driving south on John Anderson Drive. He found the car at the intersection with East Granada Boulevard, stopped well past the stop bar.
After leaving the light, the officer saw the car weaving in its lane. After stopping the car, the officer noticed that the driver appeared disheveled. His shirt was on backward. He provided an invoice from a repair shop and said it was his insurance information.
There was an odor of alcohol on the suspect and he said he had two or three beers the night before at a party. The suspect was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
Oct. 24
Hoping for lottery win
9:07 p.m. —200 Block of West Granada Boulevard
Shoplifting . A female bought a soda and a pack of cigarettes at a gas station. She then said she needed more money and tried the ATM in the store but it declined her request for cash.
She asked for $80 worth of lottery tickets and two more packs of cigarettes and said she would go to her car to get the cash. After the clerk put the items on the counter, she turned her back for a second and the suspect picked up the items and walked out.
The clerk ran outside and the suspect fled with a companion in a car that did not have a license plate.
Oct. 25
Not impressed
9:58 p.m. —1000 Block of North U.S. 1
Petit Theft. The suspect in a shoplifting incident at a convenience store said she was driven to the location by a male, and she stole the bottle of wine to impress him. She told the officer that she would not pay for it.
The clerk at the store said the couple came in and the suspect went to the back to look for the bathroom while the male bought a pack of cigarettes. The suspect then came t the counter and they both left.
A few minutes later, the suspect received a call from the male. He said he kicked the suspect out of his car because she stole a bottle of wine. He would not stay on the scene.
