The Volusia County’s Environmental Management rounded up volunteers for the annual International Coastal Cleanup Sept. 17. There were six locations in Ormond Beach where volunteers could sign up to pick up trash. They included: Bicentennial Park, Tom Renick Park, Birthplace of Speed Park, Andy Romano Beachfront Park, Sanchez Park and Cassen Park.
Ormond Beach residents Rob Burley and his son, Ryan Burley, 7, were just a few of the many locals who participated in the cleanup at Sanchez Park. They picked up 6.8 pounds of garbage, mostly bottles and cans.
