The 14th-annual Daytona Running Series has concluded its 14th season by recognizing several series champions and inducting four runners into its hall of fame.
Runners accumulate points by placing fifth place or higher in their respective age groups in each race. The DRS consists of 10 individual running events that include 5Ks, 10Ks, 10-milers and 13.1-mile half-marathons throughout Volusia County.
Two runners, Susan Leonard and Hal Leroy, earned a perfect score of 100 for finishing first in each race in their respective age group.
Josh Tomlinson finished the season as the overall winner, and Jenny Enslin, the female overall winner. Other females who placed first in their respective age groups include Angelika Grubel (Masters), Bobbie Cornelius (Grand Masters), Susan Leonard (Senior Grand Master), Olivia Tomlinson (9U), Taylor Hibel (15-19), Aleesha Denning (25-29), Rebecca Rybicki (30-34), Anna Crawford (40-44), Lynn Fahnestock (55-59), Linda Romaniszyn (60-64), Linda Johnson (65-69) and Lois Loesch (85 and over).
Male winners were Hal Leroy (Masters), Brent Robitzsch (Grand Masters), Scott Piccola (Senior Grand Masters), Christian Baeza (9U), Asher Ravede (10-14), Joe Halpin (30-34), Scott Jenkins (40-44), Ray Jarrett (45-49), Jim Ravede (50-54), Donnie Walker (60-64), Bob Hamlin (65-69), David Bird (70-74), Horace Brannon (75-79) and Jerry Lardinois (80-84).
The 15th Daytona Racing Series season kicks off with the 16th-annual Halifax Health-Hospice Fall 5K on Sept. 9.
