“Our goal is to keep pets with their families,” Flagler Humane Society Executive Director Amy Carotenuto said.
To that end, the FHS runs a pet food bank for those pet owners who might find themselves in unexpected and temporary financial problems.
The FHS added the food bank to their community outreach services more than two years ago, when Sharon O’Brien, director of Kibbles Kitchen moved out of the area.
The outreach program is directed is for qualified residents who need short-term, up to six months, assistance in order to care for their pets.
To qualify a pet owner must:

- Total household income must be less than $25,000.
- Pets must be spayed or neutered
