Two Poinciana, Florida residents killed in single-car crash on Hammock Dunes Boulevard; Palm Coast man in critical condition

Arthur Thornton, the 83-year-old driver from Palm Coast, has been taken to Halifax Health Medical Center.

Two Poinciana, Florida residents died and a Palm Coast man was injured in a single-car crash on Hammock Dunes Boulevard the evening of Sunday, April 16.

The Palm Coast resident, 83-year-old Arthur Thornton, was driving a 2012 Lexus east on Hammock Dunes Boulevard at about 5:22 p.m. when the car veered to the left, off the road, and struck a tree, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release. 

The two passengers in the car — a 77-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man, both from Poinciana, Florida — died in the crash. Their names had not been released as of the morning of April 17, pending notification of next of kin.
