When Eric Adams, the son of Palm Coast physical therapist Tom Adams, was searching for his first physical therapy internship, he didn’t bother to look at home.

“When I first started, I didn’t want to come work for him right away,” said Adams, who was a student in Daytona State College’s physical therapy assistant program at the time. “I kind of just wanted to get experience somewhere else.”

Eventually, that changed.

The 27-year-old Adams, who was a Marine for four years before graduating from Daytona State in May, was recently hired by his father as a physical therapist assistant at the family practice, Adams Rehab Solution, located in Suite 500 at 210 Old Kings Road S.

“It was kind of a no-brainer,” the younger Adams said. “I was ready to come here and join the family business right off the bat.”

The elder Adams said his son has brought a fresh perspective to the 10-year-old practice.

“He’s got a great knowledge base,” the 57-year-old father of four said. “He has a little more updated stuff. It’s kind of fun to watch. It’s always great when you’re working with one of your kids and they’re enjoying what they’re doing. It’s a lot of fun that you won’t realize unless you’re a dad and you get to do it.”
