The City of Port Orange has announced that three of its employees have resigned.
According to the city, Branford Adumuah, has resigned from his position as director of public works, Mike Silvey has resigned from his position of assistant director of public works, and Wayne Clark, director of community development, will be relocating back to North Carolina to further his career.
Adumuah, whose last day with the city will be on Friday, Aug. 18, resigned to explore other opportunities, according to a press release from the city. Lynn Stevens, public utilities director, will act as the interim director of public works, where she will be responsible for directing the activities of the public works staff until a new director of public works is hired.
Silvey's resignation will take effect on Monday, Aug. 28. According to the city, Silvey has served at this capacity since September 2011.
Clark's last day with the city will be at the end of September. The City Manager will announce a person to step up as the interim director of community development in the coming weeks.
"Mr. Adumuah and Mr. Silvey have brought us many advances in the Public Works Department and transformed the public works organization and we wish Branford and Mike success in their future endeavors,” said City Manager Jake Johansson in a press release. “Mr. Clark took the City of Port Orange to the next level with his vision in the way he was able to see the development and planning for our city. His move will bring him back to North Carolina to oversee urban development of New Hanover County. We wish him much success.”
The city will be interviewing candidates to fill these positions until suitable replacements can be found.
