Ormond Beach Florida Cub Scout Pack 74 is celebrating its 60th year in Ormond Beach, and recruiting new scouts to join the pack, at an informational meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 22.
The pack is for boys, kindergarten age through fifth grade. This year the pack expanded its curriculum to the new Lion rank, a form of “Cub Scout Lite.” The program designed to introduce boys in kindergarten to the Cub Scout experience.
Each year, Pack 74 scouts participate in a variety of activities, including campouts, the Pinewood Derby, Space and Rain gutter Regatta. The scouts also participate in Scouting for Food and maintain the grounds at Riviera Park.
“The Cub Scouts in Pack 74 enjoy a fun, friendly environment where they learn skills and form friendships that will last them a lifetime,” Cub master Ed LaComb said. “We’re proud of our Scouts and the heritage of Pack 74 in Ormond Beach and we look forward to welcoming new scouts to our pack this year.”
The pack is also looking for adult leaders to help as Den Leaders and volunteers to assist at events throughout the year.
