Safety first was the message at Imagine School at Town Center on Tuesday, Aug. 22. For the first time, Imagine School hosted a safety day as part of an overall, school-wide Safety Week.
Flagler County Sheriff's Office, Flagler County Fire Department and the local Florida Forest Service presented interactive learning methods for 904 students. Kids got the opportunity to try on a police vest, explore a police car, learn about the features of a firetruck and more.
"As a school it is a primary role of ours to prioritize student safety both on and off of our school campus," Nicole Puritis, of Imagine School at Town Center, said. "Staff planned to dedicate a day to have students interact with the various agencies from within our community, equipping them with the knowledge of what to do and how to respond in several emergency situations."
