First Baptist Christian Academy introduced football to its athletic program for the first time at the start of the school year, and on Friday, Aug. 25, the Crusaders celebrated a win in the first game played in program history.
FBCA defeated First Coast Christian 38-6.
On offense, the Crusaders’ Dahrius Boboycan had four catches for 65 yards and three touchdowns, and on defense, Zayne Smith racked up three tackles and three interceptions, according to a release.
Head coach Charlie Washington said 85% of the team’s players never played organized tackle football prior to Friday’s game.
“I am very proud of our boys and see a bright future for them,” Washington said in a release.
