Flagler Beach’s St. Vincent de Paul will host a dinner and show fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 22 at Santa Maria del Mar Parish Hall and Church to raise money to support poor and suffering families in Flagler County.
After receiving a $1,000 donation from Florida Hospital Flagler and a $1,000 donation from Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill, Tony Dolce, the head of the fundraiser committee, and St. Vincent de Paul members wanted to thank the local businesses for their generosity with personalized plaques.
“It’s a big encouragement that people are out there supporting us and helping us in what we do,” Dolce said.
Representatives from Florida Hospital Flagler and Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill were present at Nearly New Thrift Shop, 400 South Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach, on Aug. 28 for the plaque presentation.
“This organization does great work supporting people in the community that have needs, and that aligns with our mission,” said Ron Jimenez, Florida Hospital Flagler chief executive officer. “And so we’re extremely happy to be able to support them.”
Johnny Lulgjuraj, Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill owner, said there was something different about Tony Dolce and Linda Kuepper that inspired the restaurant to donate.
“They seem to actually care,” he said. “And when I see something like that, that’s the kind of positive momentum we want here in Flagler Beach. That’s the kind of community that we really want to have.”
Tickets for dinner and the show, which features singer Tim Rippey, are $50. Tickets for the show only are $20.
