The Pirates' boys soccer team dropped to 3-3 after losses to Ridgeview and Deltona. The girls team fell to 3-5 after a loss to Menendez.

Bulldogs' girls basketball handles Lakewood Ranch, University

After opening the regular season with a dominating 50-point win over Seabreeze, the Bulldogs (3-1) defeated Lakewood Ranch, dropped their next game to Alonso and bounced back with a victory over University.

Dec. 1: FPC 37, Lakewood Ranch 27

  • Skye Green: 10 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks.
  • Lilly Dunaway: 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Dec. 2: Alonso 51, FPC 37

  • Dyman Howard: 10 points, one rebound, one assist and two steals.

Dec. 4: FPC 64, University 35

  • Green: 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, five steals and three blocks.
  • Jimaya Baker: 13 points, eight assists and four steals.

FPC wrestling takes second at Titan Clash event

The Bulldogs placed second with a score of 203 in the Titan Clash Wrestling Tournament on Dec. 2 at University High School.

Second-place finishers: John Johnson, Michael DeAugustino, Avery Holder, Michael Martins, Curtis Brock and Wilbur Thomas.

Third-place finishers: Christian Sheppard and Tyler Irigoyen.

Fifth-place finishers: Trent Burke, Shane Butler and Jason Muniz.

Matanzas boys basketball wins second-straight

The Pirates' boys basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 57-49 win over Yulee in Matanzas' home-opener on Nov. 29.

  • Gregory Harrison: 17 points.
  • Greg Layne: 15 points and 14 rebounds.
  • Devin Mathews: 10 and 11 rebounds.
