Noelle Kelly slowly made her way down the candy bar. After waiting patiently in line, the little girl dressed in white was going to take her time making her selections. However, the young ladies walking behind her were not so understanding of her carefulness.
But Kelly didn't care. It was her birthday after all.
"We canceled her party to be here," said her father as he took pictures of his daughter. "She turned 9 today."
The smile on her face made it obvious that Kelly wasn't upset about celebrating her birthday at the annual Sweetheart Ball, the Junior League of Daytona Beach's biggest fundraising event of the year.
For 15 years, the organization has hosted a daddy-daughter dance to raise money to support the other community events they hold. This year's ball drew in over 800 people to the Hilton Daytona Beach Resort for an evening of face painting, photoshoots, candy and entertainment.
