Missing man sought

Resident walked away from an assisted living facility.

Ormond Beach Police are looking for William Joseph Cox, 82. He was last seen at 4 p.m. at the Grand Villas Assisted Living Facility, 535 N. Nova Road, where he is currently residing.

Cox has mild dementia, but is alert and aware, staff told police. Cox had recently made comments about wanting to go home. His wife lives in the area and has been notified of the incident.

Cox does not drive and is believed to be traveling by foot. He was last seen wearing a black sports style T-shirt and denim blue jeans. Anyone who has seen Cox is encouraged to contact the Ormond Beach Police Department at 677-0731 or Volusia County Sheriff’s Central Dispatch at 248-1777 #1 to report his location.
