Deputies arrested an 18-year-old Palm Coast woman Feb. 25 after she broke into her ex-boyfriend's house and threatened him and his current girlfriend with a knife, according to Flagler County Sheriff's Office reports.
Kaitlin McBride, a resident of Zerington Court, told deputies she went to the Senseney Path home of her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Maxwell Celentano, just before 4 a.m. to pick up her cat and a Black OPS 2 video game, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
She told deputies that she'd contacted Celentano, and that he'd said she could come over "anytime."
But Celentano, speaking to deputies after the incident, said that he and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Cassandra Courchesne, were in bed sleeping when McBride jumped on his girlfriend, punched her and threatened her with a knife, held both him and Courchesne at knifepoint and then fled in a white vehicle as law enforcement was called.
As deputies were responding to Celentano’s home at 3:48 a.m., one deputy spotted an older white Chevrolet Cavalier matching the description of the vehicle McBride was driving, heading north on Seminole Woods Boulevard.
The deputy made a U-turn to catch up to the vehicle, and deputies pulled over McBride’s car on State Road Road 100, east of Seminole Woods Boulevard, and questioned her about the incident.
During their investigation, deputies found the cat and video game, as well as a knife on the front passenger side floorboard.
They arrested McBride and charged her with robbery home invasion with a deadly weapon, battery, and petit theft.
Sheriff Rick Staly commended the quick-thinking deputies who responded to this incident and made the arrest.
"This was very good police work in this home invasion," he said. "Our deputies did an excellent job of catching this suspect and preventing any more injury. I’m very proud of all those involved."
