The city of Ormond Beach has issued an invitation to bid for seawall repair at Ames Park, located on South Beach Street near Mound Avenue; and Riviera Park, located on South Beach Street at Plaza Grande Avenue.
The seawalls are in need of repair for cracks and soil stabilization, according to a city staff report. Cracks in the seawall allow the soil to erode and depressions form on the park side of the wall, creating a safety risk.
An amount of $94,000 has been budgeted for the work. Repair cost is estimated at $50 per linear foot while replacement cost for a failed seawall would be about $450 per linear foot, according to the report.
