Two teenage girls who were reported missing from their homes have been found, according to Port Orange Police Department Public Information Officer Evan Doyle.
Brittany M. Pickavance, 15, and Destiny D. Thompson, 15, were reported to be missing after both their parents found the girls' rooms empty, a statement from the police department indicates.
Pickavance and Thompson are friends and were believed to be together, according to police. Thompson was reported missing on Tuesday, July 11 after her mother found her bedroom door locked.
The report states Thompson's mother saw her daughter's window was partially opened and crawled through only to find the her daughter missing. Authorities wrote that some clothing, along with the teen's cellphone and charger were gone.
According to police, Thompson's mother then went to Pickavance's house to see if her daughter was there. The report indicates Pickavance's parents also found their daughter to be missing before trying to call her cellphone with "negative results."
According to the report, Thompson's mother noted the only places her daughter would like to go were "the boardwalk in Daytona Beach, Florida or to Tennessee." Authorities wrote that Destiny's mother said her daughter has always wanted to live in Tennessee.
According to the report, it is unknown what Thompson and Pickavance were wearing when they left, what direction they were headed or their mode of transportation. The girls' parents told authorities neither teen has their driver's licenses.
No further information on where or how the girls were found has been released.
