For the 19th year Ormond Beach will have the Fourth of July celebration on both sides of the Halifax River. The family event is alcohol free and personal fireworks are prohibited. For more information call, 676-3241 or visit the city’s website at ormondbeach.org.
Live music and children’s events
7-9:15 p.m. – “Not Brother’s Band” in Rockefeller Gardens and “UpTUIT” at City Hall Plaza
7-8:30 p.m. – Activities for the children, North lawn of Rockefeller Gardens
9:30 p.m. – Fireworks south of the Granada Bridge on the Halifax River
Road closures, parking and shuttles
Parking: Handicapped permits in the lot near Bailey Riverbridge Gardens. Public parking includes the lot behind city hall, The Casements parking lot, and Fortunato Park.
Closures: Parking on South Beach Street adjacent to Cassen Park closed from 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 4 to 1 a.m. Wednesday, July 5. Cassen Park piers and boat docks at 7 p.m. July 4.
Street closures: North Beach Street will be closed from Granada Blvd. to Lincoln Ave.; South Beach Street will be closed from Granada Blvd. to Division Ave.; and, Grove Street will be closed from Tomoka Ave. to Division Ave. Other side streets within the event area may be detoured or closed for the event.
Free Shuttle service: 7-10 p.m. across the Granada Bridge. Pick-up and drop-off locations are at Beach Street and Granada Blvd. on the west side of the bridge, and at Riverside Drive and Granada Blvd. on east side of the bridge. Final shuttle will end at city hall at 10:15 p.m.
Details: Activities for the children include a rock climbing wall, a moon walk, an obstacle course, a giant slide, photo booth, balloon twisting, a stilt walker, and appearances by Abe Lincoln, George and Martha Washington.
