Starting on June 26, about 230 elementary age children at the First United Methodist Church received firsthand experience on compassion during the Maker Fun Factory Kids Adventure Week. The kids were split into two groups, red and yellow, to see which group could raise the most money for Compassion International, a Christian humanitarian aid child sponsorship organization. Their offerings would go to a child named Isaias in the Dominican Republic.
The children participated in a variety of Bible-themed activities, from science projects and kite making to singing and group prayer. The vacation Bible school ends June 30.
