Deputies seek public's help to find missing 16-year-old girl

UPDATE: March 9: Elizabeth Higgins was found safe the night of March 8 after someone recognized the photo that had been circulated, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office news release. 

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help to find a 16-year-old Palm Coast girl who didn't return home from Matanzas High School on Monday, March 6.

Elizabeth Higgins, a resident of Filbert Lane, was reported missing by her family March 6, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

She is described as white, about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 135 pounds, and was last seen possibly wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans.

Deputies don't know her direction of travel. She has been entered into state and national databases as missing.

"Please help us assist this family and be on the lookout for Elizabeth," Sheriff Rick Staly said in the news release. "We need everyone to be alert and return this teen safely to her family."
