Too many keys

8 p.m. — 500 Block of Bryant Street

Grand Theft. The victim told police that he went outside to have a cigarette when he noticed his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was not parked in his front yard where he had left it that morning. He advised officers that the vehicle is a push to start, and he keeps the key inside the unlocked car because the key is "too much of a burden to keep with the rest of his keys."

The victim said he had not given anyone permission to use his car and that he did want to pursue charges. The next day at approximately 8 a.m., the victim reported that he woke up to a knock on his door from a friend who told him that he took the car because he knew the victim would give him permission.

He was going to return the car, but he got too drunk to drive it back that same night. The victim told police he no longer wanted to pursue charges.

Tea fight

2:43 p.m. — 100 Block of Interchange Boulevard

Assault/Battery. A store employee told police that the suspect is a regular customer who has ordered the same thing, every day for the past five months. The suspect completed her order and left without incident, only to call back and complain a few minutes later that it was incorrect. She said she asked for no ice in her tea.

About an hour later, she returned to the store's drive-thru window and demanded that the victim fix her order. He said he's completed the order several times in the past and knew he didn't make a mistake.

He told her the order was accurate, and the suspect threw a tray of teas at him from inside her vehicle. The majority of the teas fell on the ground outside her car, but some tea did splash on the victim's arm. He declined to press charges but did ask that she be trespassed from the store.

The suspect told police that she didn't throw the trays, they fell but agreed to not come back to the store.

Sweet tooth

4:11 p.m. —200 Block of Northshore Drive

Petit Theft. The victim told police he observed the defendant put a Nesquick drink bottle in her purse and leave the store without paying. Officers got the defendant's tag from the victim, which led them to an address just a few blocks away.

They were able to see the defendant inside the residence, and after repeatedly knocking on the door, the homeowner answered. The defendant ran out of the house through a back door. Officers obtained the defendant's real name and found there was an open warrant for her arrest.

After searching the area, officers returned to the store and reviewed the store's video that showed the defendant putting the Nesquick bottle in her purse and exiting the store. The drink was worth $2.59. The victim said he recognized the defendant from being in the store the day before and had another video of her stealing a Cookies 'n Cream Hershey King Size candy bar valued at $1.99.

The defendant was found by police at the same residence later that day. While walking to the patrol car, the defendant stomped her foot down and stated that she needed her phone charger. Officers advised her they were not going back.
