In exchange for non-perishable food items, hundreds of locals received a free three-gallon tree, visited green vendors selling environmental products and enjoyed music, refreshments and other environmental activities at Palm Coast's Arbor Day Saturday, May 6, at the Town Center.
"The turnout was amazing, said Carol Mini, director of the event. "It was one of the best yet. "The overarching goal is to get people to come out and donate to our community and our food bank while in return getting a tree and helping our environment. So, it's a win-win for everybody.
