‘Don’t worry, this theft’s on me’

4:54 p.m. — 1400 Block of West Granada Boulevard.

Petit Theft. Three suspects were detained for allegedly shoplifting. Also, their car was found to be stolen out of Flagler County.

One suspect said that they had stolen items at a store in Flagler County. They then drove to another store and stole more items. The manager was aware they stole the items but told them to just take the items and leave and never come back.

Then, they drove to the Ormond Beach store, and the female suspect said another suspect told her to pick out anything she wanted and not worry about it because it was a treat to her. When she went to the front door with her cart full of items, the other suspect was telling the person at the register that he did not have any money and a friend was going out to the car to get it.

At the point, police arrived on the scene. The female suspect abandoned the shopping cart which had $1,300 worth of merchandise.

All of the suspects were found to have stolen clothes on their persons. One suspect had two pairs of socks tucked in his waist band, three stolen T-shirts underneath his shirt and other merchandise. Another suspect had two stolen bathing suits under his gym shorts and two T-shirts under the T-shirt he wore into the store.

Store personnel had seen the suspects go into fitting rooms several times and called police.
