Time is running out for the community to take full advantage of an anonymous donation to benefit the arts in Palm Coast.
The donor has offered to match up to $50,000 to help the Palm Coast Arts Foundation raise enough money to build a roof structure for the outdoor stage at Town Center in Palm Coast. It’s the largest gift PCAF has received, and the deadline is May 19.
PCAF hosted its signature event, the 10th-annual Picnic and Pops, on Sunday, May 7, on the stage. When fully built out, the property, which is being leased from the city of Palm Coast, is designed to house an arts center with more than 2,000 seats. The city is also scheduled to build bathrooms on the property.
So far, the organization, including President Sam Perkovich, Executive Director Nancy Crouch and Marketing and Events Director Barrie Michaels, has raised 78% toward the goal of $50,000. When coupled with the match, that could total as much as $100,000 toward the $500,000 required to match a state grant.
