The Miracle League: Teeing off for a greater cause

Cypress Head Golf Club hosted the third annual "Chip-in" for Miracle League golf tournament.

The Miracle League of Volusia County hosted a charity event at Cypress Head Golf Club on a bright Sunday morning, Nov. 12, in Port Orange. Hundreds of golfers were eager to participate in the third-annual "Chip In" tournament, which benefits the construction of the new baseball field, for children with special needs, in New Smyrna Beach.

Charlie Schultz, a supporter of the Miracle League and golfer, said that everyone in attendance was passionate about making it possible for parents to be able to sit in the stands and watch their children with disabilities fulfill their dreams of playing baseball. 

The Miracle League recently broke ground on land donated by New Smyrna Beach. The field is expected to be finished by the middle of next year.
