The Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation donated $15,000 to the Flagler County Free Clinic in support of the clinic’s diabetes services, according to a news release.
The money was raised during the foundation’s eighth-annual Moonlit Gala on Feb. 12 at the Club at Hammock Beach. About 300 guests helped raise money for the clinic, which provides services to residents who do not have health insurance and are 200% or more below the federal poverty level. The money will be used to help the clinic purchase supplies for diabetic patients, including insulin and blood glucose test strips.
“The Flagler County Free Clinic provides an essential access point for primary care services to our neighbors in need. It is this access to care that can help manage chronic diseases – like diabetes, cardiac disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, “ said Dr. Ron Jimenez, Florida Hospital Flagler CEO, in a release. “By managing these conditions in the Flagler County Free Clinic, residents in-need can help take care of the small problems with their health before they become much larger problems down the road.”
Andy Tuohy and Brian Graf, owners of Grill & Hearth, announced the store is celebrating 20 years of business, according to a news release.
Grill & Hearth, located at 4982 Palm Coast Parkway NW, features more than 100 grills, fire pits, gas and electric fireplaces, summer kitchens, Big Green Eggs and grilling and fireplace accessories. The store’s showroom was recently doubled to 4,800 square feet.
“We can’t believe it has been two decades since we opened our doors,” Graf said in a release. “In looking back on the ups and downs of our local economy during this time, we couldn’t be prouder of our success and we owe it all to our community and loyal customers.”
