POPD: Driver dies after being involved in car crash on Thanksgiving Day

The vehicle crash happened on Taylor Road.

An 18-year-old woman died after being involved in a single motor vehicle traffic crash on Thursday, Nov. 23, according to the Port Orange Police Department. 

Police responded to the crash at approximately 11:47 a.m. on the 6800 block of Taylor Road. The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, Summer Ferreira, died at the scene of the crash. 

Port Orange Traffic Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are actively working this investigation. Anyone with information regarding this traffic crash is asked to contact Officer Jesse Pierson at 386-506-5838.
