A fundraising campaign at four car wash locations has brought in $14,244.07 that will go toward the American Cancer Society and the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation Pink Army.

Every year since 2014, a Breast Cancer Awareness campaign has been run at the Sparkle n Shine in Ormond Beach, Superwash Express in Port Orange and Superwash Express in Mount Dora, all of which donated $1 for every lava wash purchased in October. This year, Superwash Express in Palm Coast was added.

"Beating cancer is just something that we were all interested in," Crystal Goussis, officer manger for Superwash Express and Sparkle n Shine, said. "If we were going to donate, we wanted to donate to that [cause]."

Some car wash customers donated money in addition to what was collected, according to Goussis. Since the campaign was started three years ago, more than $45,000 has been raised for the charitable organizations.

"We're glad to be a part of it," she said. "It's been a successful thing since we started. Its just been a really good drive every year."
