Following last week’s multi-agency raid on violent drug dealers, an executed search warrant by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of two men after deputies seized narcotics and weapons, according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.
A tactical team entered the two-bedroom home, located at Ryall Lane in Palm Coast, and secured 10 occupants on the morning of Monday, Oct. 2.
A search of the residence uncovered three firearms, ammunition, about 260.67 grams of marijuana, 17 grams of cocaine, three MDMA tablets, 14 controlled substance tablets and drug paraphernalia.
The defendants, 35-year-old Shawn Christopher Crawford and 27-year-old Dhaighamyoosuf Tariq Khawaja, attempted to flush the marijuana down the toilet as deputies entered the residence but were unsuccessful, according to the release.
In addition, an AK47 semi-automatic rifle was found in a child’s bedroom closet.
Crawford was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of a new legend drug. His bond was placed at $31,000.
Khawaja was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA, destruction of evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is $8,000.
“Our patrol and Special Investigations unit are working hard to get the poison peddlers off the streets,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release. “Take your drugs and guns and get out of Flagler County because we will find you.”
