Port Orange Police Department looking for man who burglarized home, stole firearm

Police are looking for the suspect, Israel Rios.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3, a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol that had been stolen from a Port Orange residence on August 16 was found in New Smyrna Beach. The firearm was recovered during the execution of a search warrant by another agency, according to the Port Orange Police Department. 

An arrest warrant for the suspect, Israel Rios, was obtained for armed burglary of a residence, grand theft of more than $20,000, grand theft of a firearm, and out-of state convicted felon in possession of a firearm. 

The Port Orange Police Department is being assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service to locate Rios. Anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of Rios is encouraged to contact Detective Barry Marotte at 386-506-5893.
