Adams Cameron's 21st annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" luncheon held on Friday, Sept. 29 raised an estimated $4,250 for the American Cancer Society.
The luncheon began as a way for the company to raise money to provide T-shirts for all the Adam Cameron agents that wanted to participate in their cancer walk. From that, the luncheon grew into the large event it is currently. This year, 150 people attended the luncheon.
Adams Cameron Sales Manager Marge Allison said the event was a success this year, despite a change of date that had to occur due to the past hurricane. She said the 54-year-old real estate company continues to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society because cancer is something they are all impacted by in some way, whether it be through co-workers or family members.
“Cancer touches everybody, and so we feel that this is a really worthwhile cause for us to champion to raise money for the cancer society," Allison said. "We hope this year, a lot of the money will kept within the community to help people that are here needing assistance along with any research and so forth that the Cancer Society does to find a cure."
