It's pirates aboard the S.S. Sellboat versus Hogwarts and quidditch this Halloween in the Adams Cameron branches in Ormond Beach.
The Ormond Beach offices have transformed their everyday work spaces to match their respective themes for the company's office Halloween decor contest. The office on the beachside has embraced a sunken pirate ship concept, utilizing debris that washed ashore shortly after the hurricane. The office on the mainland has taken a more literary approach, turning their training room into the great hall at Hogwarts to match their Harry Potter theme.
“It was a huge group effort from everyone in the office," said Andy Thompson, realtor at the beachside office.
The beachside office won the contest last year, and they're hoping to do the same this year. Thompson said they have all brought in different pieces to bring their theme to life. Their office steps are even decorated with seaweed they collected on the beach.
Erin McKeown, another realtor at the same office, said because they are the office on the beachside, they wanted to do something beachy, but still scary. Emily Rager handmade a lot of the decorations as well. Walking in to the office, they wanted people to feel as if they were underwater.
On the mainland office, the Hogwarts sorting hat greets whoever comes through the front door.
Joan Burnett said at first, they were in between a classroom or a Pippi Longstocking theme. In the end, the DIY decorating possibilities with Harry Potter were too tempting. Aside from a great hall, they also have a quidditch-themed room and Hogwarts candy bar.
“It’s really brought a lot of camaraderie within the office," Burnett said. "It’s a great way to get to know your co-workers.”
