Ormond Beach fine art photographer Harriet Blum has opened a studio/gallery in The Towers, 2800 N. Atlantic Ave., Suite 9, in Daytona Beach. The primary subjects of her hand-tinted photographs are landscapes. Her work is featured in the New Orleans Museum of Art, Roger Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Mobile Museum of Art, the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, hotels and health care facilities.

Horizon gets check for students
Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3811 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, has awarded Horizon Elementary School a $2,500 Community Grant. The funds will be used to develop an Interactive Student Learning Area for student enrichment. Store manager Brittany Alford presented the check to Vanessa Van Der Veer, grant writer for Horizon Elementary School.
Volunteers give $100,000 to foundation
Halifax Health Auxiliary Inc. made a check presentation to Halifax Health - Foundation, the charitable foundation for Halifax Health, in the amount of $101,010.10. The auxiliary is the volunteer organization at the hospital.
Also, the auxiliary has installed new officers for a one-year term: Liz Dusz, president; Daphne Sapp, first vice president; Connie St. Denny, second vice president; John Smith, recording secretary; Tami Collins, corresponding secretary; Joan Chase, treasurer; and Cynthia Rose, assistant treasurer.

Daytona Chamber announces awards
The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce presented their annual awards at a luncheon recently.
Social Advisors was awarded the Small Business of the Year for one to 10 employees, and All Aboard Properties received The Small Business of the Year for 11 to 50 employees.
Melinda Dawson, vice-president of Silversphere, received the Marvin Samuels Award for excellent leadership standards.The Volusia Young Professionals Group presented the Young Professional of the Year Award to Vinod “Vinny” Sagrani, of VyStar Credit Union.
A special recognition was presented to Tom Cook Jewelers who are celebrating 125 years in business.

Emergency Physicians busy during Irma
Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center selected EMPros as the physicians of quarter for the work they did during Hurricane Irma. EMPros is an Ormond Beach-based, emergency medicine physician practice that staffs the hospital’s emergency department.
During the hurricane, the EMPros group of emergency medicine physicians cared for more than 650 patients over the span of three days, a 40% increase over normal volumes. They cared for patients with snakebites and chainsaw injuries, as well as urgent heart and lung conditions, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Bob Rand, of Coldwell Banker Commercial, received the CCIM designation at a conference in Toronto recently. The Certified Commercial Investment Member lapel pin denotes the wearer has completed advanced coursework in financial and market analysis and has extensive experience in commercial real estate.
Rand has practiced commercial real estate for 12 years and has been with Coldwell Banker Commercial, 570 Memorial Circle, Suite 300, for eight years.
