Chad Desaulniers always seems to be working on a project.
The Palm Coast resident's most recent endeavor is a large, hand-crafted pirate ship that's displayed in his front yard in the C-Section. His 5-year-old son, Cole Desaulniers, helped paint the ship's walls and was thrilled when he saw the completed 22-foot tall, 30-foot long ship. Cole is going to be a pirate for Halloween.
Desaulniers described the ship as a 2 a.m. thought of his. He woke up and knew he wanted to make it his next project. After gathering supplies including foam boards, furring strips, PVC pipe and 600 feet of rope, he worked on the project over a period of three days.
"You gotta go big or go home," Desaulniers said.
