Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery at Walgreens as well as a vehicle arson, according to a release by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, deputies received a call after the Walgreens at 1109 Palm Coast Parkway was robbed by three armed assailants, according to the release.

No one was injured.

In addition, at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a vehicle fire at Blair Court in Palm Coast.

According to the release, a person told deputies that someone lit the car on fire before fleeing on foot and getting into another car. The fire was put out by the fire department.

An ensuing investigation led detectives to believe the car set on fire was related to the Walgreens robbery and an attempt to destroy evidence.

“We’re confident that the vehicle arson and the Walgreens robbery are connected,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release. “This is still a very active investigation with detectives, CSI and patrol doing everything we can to catch the suspects and put them in the Green Roof Inn where they belong.”
