Hurricane Irma has been labeled the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Hospital is not taking this threat lightly.
Each of the Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties have individual hurricane plans to help staff prepare, respond and recover from a potential storm.
Several considerations factor into the decision of whether or not to evacuate a hospital facility, such as wind speeds and storm surge. In an abundance of caution, protective actions taken at the Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties include:
Halifax Health Emergency Departments to Remain Open

Halifax Health Emergency Departments in Daytona Beach, Port Orange and Deltona will continue to
remain . open 24 hours a day throughout the Hurricane Irma storm period to take care of those in need of medical care. All Halifax Health outpatient offices will be closed effective Saturday, Sept. 9 until further notice.
